Investor Program

With the Immigrant Investor Program, the government of Canada hopes to attract qualified business people who will contribute to the country’s economic development by making significant investments in the country’s economy. Permanent residence visas in Canada are available to investors who satisfy all of the requirements for this program and their immediate family members who meet the requirements (so long as they are not found inadmissible for medical or security reasons).

The following are the terms and conditions:
Investors must meet the following requirements to be able to qualify for this Canadian immigration investor program:

  • There should be no intention of relocating to Quebec (for more information on the Quebec Investor Program, if Quebec is your intended destination); and
  • This requires the investor to demonstrate the necessary level of business experience. This exemption is available if you have owned and operated a qualifying business or managed a team of at least five people.
  • To be eligible, an investor must have a minimum capital contribution of $1,600,000 CAD (all of which must have been earned legally); and
  • The investor needs to make an investment with the Canadian government of $800,000 Canadian dollars (which will be returned to the investor 5 years later, without interest).

Farming Investor Visa

The Agri-Food Business of Canada is a $110 billion industry that employs over 2.3 million people and exports about $56 billion in products each year. With a sustainable economy that is rated tenth in the world, Canada’s farming business is not just the largest, but also one of the most profitable.

While Canada’s agricultural sector is thriving, it is struggling to meet labor demands and is in desperate need of highly skilled workers as many young professionals are opting to relocate to urban areas in search of opportunities for work, not to mention that skilled workers are retiring at an earlier age.

As a result, the Canadian government has established new programs and mechanisms to assist in filling gaps in the Canadian labor market and assist qualified foreign employees in immigrating to Canada as well as settling into the Canadian community. The Express Entry System and the Provincial Nominee Programs are two of these systems/programs. These procedures and services not only simplify the process, but also expedite it, allowing newcomers to move to Canada with their families in as little as six months.

As a farmworker, you can easily come to one of Canada’s rural regions via the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot and the New Agri-Food Pilot, which will provide 2,750 annual slots for competent agricultural and livestock employees.
